EMTS – European Medtech Services – has set itself the goal of improving the availability of medical technology in Southeast Asia. MRL Advisors has joined as a founding partner.

The former top manager of the Austrian Fresenius-VAMED, Matthias Köhler, had the idea to found the company when Southeast Asia was no longer in focus due to the company’s new internal priorities. He launched EMTS with the full support of the VAMED CEO in office at the time.

EMTS’ customers are both healthcare facilities and manufacturers of medical technology. The employees are mostly experienced biomedical engineers.
MRL Advisors recommended and implemented the basic structure and also designed and agreed with the shareholders the structure in the Philippines, in which a local entrepreneur entered as a minority shareholder. MRL Advisors also defined the holding model for co-investors who joined the holding company in Singapore via convertible loans. The group of shareholders of the holding company now consists of seven shareholders, including the management.

The holding company’s investment model is open to new shareholders – because EMTS has many other ideas and sustainable growth potential in the countries of Southeast Asia.
